Hi Gorgeous People,

I’ve been gathering a long list in my head on all my favourite beauty products for 2012 and pardon me for not having actual photographs of them – I’ve been absolutely slacking about and taking the new year rather slowly.

Hada Labo AHA + BHA Face Wash

Seriously impressed with the Hado Labo AHA & BHA Face Wash. I used this when I accidentally brought my SKII to the airport and it got thrown out ( OMG, I almost wanted to cry). Anyways, long story short, I am a fan of this facial wash. The ingredients list is so simple, it’s fragrance free, cleans my skin nicely, not excessively and does not dry out my skin. Very impressed with this facial wash.

Pure Beauty Perfect Cleansing Oil

I’ve tried the high end cleansing oils and seriously this pure beauty perfect cleansing oil does a really fantastic job of removing extremely stubborn makeup. I am so impressed by this cleansing oil. In fact, I feel that it works even better at removing waterproof makeup than shu uemura. Honest to goodness and it’s so much cheaper as well. I buy mine at Watsons so it’s cheap and works so damn well at removing all traces of makeup. I’ve had mine for 4-5 months now and there’s still a little left. No irritation or stinging of the eye.

Makeup Artist Choice Fade Peel

I’ve yet to do an in depth review on this fade peel but I’ve used it for about 4-5 times now and it’s so true to it’s name. It is formulated with Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Kojic Acid and Malic Acid.

It faded a few stubborn post acne pigmentation marks recently. I no longer have, use or sell my old trusty glycolic moisturizer  because ever since they changed the formula, it just did not work as well. I suspect the manufacturer lowered the concentration of glycolic hence the lack of efficacy, resulting in my spots lingering on for longer period of time. So I turned to the fade peel which I leave on for 5 minutes each time I apply it and it really gives me glowing, clearer and brighter skin. Other people have noticed the brightening effect as well! It’s much gentler than my higher concentration glycolic peels but I love this because it gives my skin a light peel and reduces dry patches on my skin. Love this peel so much!

Mandelic Acid Toner

Mandelic Acid Toner has a  concentration of 5% Mandelic Acid and is a great toning product. This is fantastic for individuals who need more exfoliation or prefer a cleaner face because I often am stunned at how “ dirty” my face is when I check the product soaked cotton ball ! This toner will clean up your pores and help to refine the skin. It’s pretty amazing and I love the scent a lot. Makes my skin feel so clean and ready for moisturizer or serums. Moreover, I love almonds and these wonder foods must be good for the skin too.

Dr Secrets 3 & 4

By far, this duo is my must have nightly facial moisturiser. Even though Dr Secrets is a multi level marketing brand, I am willing to suck it in just to buy these 2 because they really give skin a radiance and aid in skin renewal. Skin Light T3 has undergone so many packaging changes and now it’s getting smaller and pricer. T3 contains lightening ingredients and may cause a reaction or some sensitivity when first used ( now my skin is pretty used to it ). Skinrecon T4 is still the same in terms of packaging and basically works like a moisturizer but I am praying they reduce the product while increasing the price ( like T3) because I always have to buy this as a set. Dr secrets products I have discovered, do not leave your skin in a worse state after you stop using them but u will notice the difference in the brightness and texture of the skin when you stop. So consistency is key to seeing true results when it comes to these 2 products. If you use the whole regime, the results are pretty fantastic too. I can vouch for that as this was the range that help me combat my adult acne.

Avene High Protection Sun Emulsion SPF50+ 50ml

Sunblock is to me what foundations and powder is to most women. It is the one thing I will always have on before leaving the house. It will protect your skin from premature aging and I cannot stress enough how important it is to have a great sunblock. Recently, I’ve started using this sunblock again because I ran out of my spectra band and strange enough, I’m liking the Avene High Protection Sun Emulsion SPF 50 a whole lot more. It doesn’t make me look overly greasy like the spectra band and gives me good protection. 2012 left me with some new freckle spots that I wasn’t too happy with and I am hoping to keep new ones at bay with a combination of hats, fade peels and Avene Sunblock. Everyday, rain or shine.

Argan Oil

I get my Argan Oil from Makeup Artist choice as well and it is 100% concentrate. I never believed in this miracle oil until I witnessed how it transformed my hay hair back into it’s normal smoother state. If it works so well for chemically processed hair, it should work just as well, if not better for my skin as well.  I actually like to rub this oil in between my palms and heat it up and press it onto my face, especially after a DIY peel session. It has moisturized my skin and kept it that way for way longer than any other cream. Honestly, Argan Oil is a beauty treasure and I’m using it for my little boy’s cuts as well.

Lucas Papaw Ointment

Anytime I have parched or gross dry lips, I apply some lucas papaw ointment and it heals it up overnight. I prefer this to normal Vaseline because it does not have any bad taste and actually it doesn’t have that oily or greasy feeling like Vaseline. I even use it on my cuts sometimes. I much prefer this over Vaseline any day.

What’s your 2012 MUST HAVE Skincare Product???

Well, I guess these are my absolute favourite skin care products of 2012 and products I always stock at home. I really hope u guys would find this blog post interesting or helpful because I experiment with lots of products ( gifted or not) and these few are like a necessity to me now!

I too am in love with hada labos skin care, I've recently got a whitening emulsion for moisturizing at night and its been great too. In terms of other products, I'm trying out some serums to start my anti aging regime, I find its been reducing any puffiness I'd have around my eyes. I haven't gotten into argan oil, I've learnt that the argan fruit has been quite over harvested the last few years so I'm going to try other oils first. This year is going to be a year of skincare for me! Must invest in good skincare!

Thanks for letting me know about the whitening emulsion as I've been eying Hada Labo Whitening range as well. Oohh.. I wasn't aware of the Argan Oil issue. From what I've researched, production of argan oil sustains the community and empowers the women but I guess commercialization always has to rear it's ugly head somehow :( Thanks for informing me though, I'll def check argan oil production source from different brands in future:)

I too use the Lucas Papaw Ointment, and simply its better than any vaseline, however searching blogs of beauty I have got some resources of some raw foods also which are very beneficial for our skin, like onions, mangoes, oranges etc
